Welcome to the Photography Section of the Eisteddfod

We are delighted to invite photographers of all ages and experience levels to take part in this year’s exhibition—especially those entering for the first time. This is a wonderful opportunity to print and display your favourite photographs and see them celebrated in our annual island showcase.

Please take a moment to read through the syllabus, which outlines all the guidelines for preparing and presenting your work.

This year’s special theme is “Coastal.” Living on an island gives us endless inspiration for this category—let your imagination flow and capture the spirit of our coastline in your own unique way.

Since 2009, we have proudly included a “Young Photographer” category to encourage the growing talent and enthusiasm among students. Alongside the open categories, we also offer an 18-and-under Creative Image Class, designed to celebrate innovation and artistic expression. For further details about creative images, please refer to the syllabus.

The “Mobile Phone Class” for adults, introduced in 2016, continues to recognise the creative potential of modern mobile photography and the ever-improving quality of phone cameras.
