The Friends of the Jersey Eisteddfod

Become a ‘Friend’ and help to continue the work of the Jersey Eisteddfod

The Eisteddfod is a charity affiliated to the British Federation of Festivals, itself a registered charity, and has been a part of Jersey’s cultural life for over 100 years, the first Festival being held in 1908.

Every year thousands take part. The Autumn Performing Arts Festival includes sections on French, Jèrriais, Modern Languages, Music, Drama and Dance, whilst the Spring Arts and Crafts Festival includes sections on Needlework, Photography, Handwriting and Calligraphy, Schools Arts and Crafts and Floral Art.   Competitors come from all walks of life and can range in age from children under five to adults over ninety. The Eisteddfod is run by over 100 dedicated volunteer helpers who gladly give of their time.

You can help by becoming a ‘Friend’

Subscription rates are £25 for Individual Friends, £40 for Joint Friends (in the same household) and £150 for Corporate Friends – although any donations over and above these amounts would always be welcome!   In order to keep the costs to a minimum it would be greatly appreciated if payment could be made by standing order.  Please note that subscriptions are due on joining and on 1st December, but next year is free if you join after June.

Benefits

You will be provided with a membership card (two for Joint Friends and Corporate Friends) that will entitle you to free entry to both the Spring and Autumn Festivals (although regrettably we are unable to offer free entry for any sessions where the Box Office is involved).

Please remember, if you are an individual Jersey Tax Payer then the value of your annual subscription as a Friend of the Eisteddfod would be worth more if made by Deed of Covenant.   The same would apply to Corporate donations of more than £250 and forms can be supplied on request.
